Mold Design Concept

According to the national professional definition, mold design is a person who is engaged in the digital design of enterprise mold, including cavity mold and cold stamping die. On the basis of traditional mold design, fully use digital design tools, improve mold design quality, and shorten mold design cycle.

The overall structure of the stamping die can be divided into two parts:
(1) Common part.
(2) The part that changes according to the product. The common parts can be standardized or normalized, and the parts that change according to the product are difficult to be standardized.

1. Formwork composition
The composition of the stamping die will be divided into two types according to the type and composition of the die and the difference between them. The former is the most commonly used structure, while the latter is mainly used for drawing forming dies or matching special dies.

The size of the formwork shall be larger than the working area, and the standard formwork size shall be selected. The position of the template locking screw is related to the type of mold and the size of the template. Among them, locking screws are most commonly used in single engineering molds to configure the four corners, and the most standard form of working area can be widely used. Long molds and continuous molds are most often equipped with locking screws at four corners and in the middle.
(2) Thickness of formwork
The selection of the thickness of the template is absolutely related to the structure of the mold, the type of stamping process, the processing force of stamping process, and the precision of stamping process. It is difficult to determine the thickness of the mold based on theoretical calculation. Generally, it is obtained from experience. The types of template thickness used in design should be as few as possible, and the mold height and clamping height should be standardized to facilitate procurement and inventory management.
