Current situation of mold industry

Dec 28, 2022

According to the statistics of China Mold Industry Association, China's mold export growth has exceeded 20% for four consecutive years since 2010. Due to the weak demand in the international market, the growth rate of mold export decreased to 9.35% in 2014.
According to the data of the production and marketing demand forecast and transformation and upgrading analysis report of China's mold manufacturing industry, in the first quarter of 2015, China's mold export increased by 3.09% year-on-year, and the growth rate further slowed down. It is expected that the annual export growth rate will fall further than last year; During the same period, mold import and export and import experienced the first "quarterly negative growth" since 2009, and market uncertainties increased.
Mould is known as the "mother of industry". At present, there are 30000 mould enterprises in China, with an annual output value of 220 billion yuan and an annual export of nearly 5 billion dollars. It has become a major mould manufacturing and mould trading country. China's mold export growth continues to slow down. In addition to being subject to the international economic situation, it also shows that the international competitiveness of the mold industry is insufficient.
Since 2014, although the international mold market has shrunk as a whole, the high-end market represented by precision molds still has a large demand. However, the "self-matching rate" of China's high-end mold is less than 60%, which greatly restricts the development of the international high-end market
